Services Sydney Medical Service offices are staffed 24 hours a day every day of the year. At a rate of ZERO subscription fees for single doctor practices (after a nominal registration charge) SMS will attend to your patients after hours so you are able to maximise your leisure time and be assured your practice is in good hands. When necessary the locum will arrange to have your patient referred to the nearest emergency department. The locum's report is then faxed directly to your surgery on the next working day and a copy is kept on our database. Should your patient require special management advice, our office will ensure that appropriate notes are recorded on your patient's file for our locums to access. Our locums all carry laptop computers and their cars also have radio communication back to the base. The service utilises a state of the art wireless communications system which permits the rapid transfer of patient data to the locum's laptop computer at the patients bedside. Sydney Medical Service does not provide medical advice over the phone. Every call is treated as genuine and is processed and passed on to a locum who will visit the patient. Sydney Medical Service provides after-hours cover for General Practitioners from 6 pm to 8 am on weekdays and from noon Saturday to 8 am Monday as well as all Public Holidays. Our offices are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year. Our locums are qualified general practitioners who have unconditional registration in NSW. They have Medical Liability Insurance and carry a Medical bag equipped to RACGP standards. They will see your patients after-hours in their home or nursing home and you will receive a report on the visit the next day. Unless instructed otherwise by you your patient's consultation will be bulk billed. We use advanced technology in the taking and processing of calls and the recording and processing of patients' notes. How can we be of Service to you?
